Sal Gets Her Head Stuck

Course, as I said we always kept chickens and different things up the garden.

We was all up there playing - there was me, Sal, I expect Queen, and Fatty. Jim would have been a bit too old I expect, I don’t know there was a crowd of us and kids from our side.

Anyhow, somebody did say to our gang,

”Well let's see who can get their head in the chicken run”, y'know, cubby hole as they called it.

Well we all gets our heads and has a good look like, and puts 'em in and pulls 'em out.

Now it's Sally's turn. Sal got her head in there, twists it round, course, couldn't get her head out. You haven't heard so much squealin' in all yer life. Didn' t have the sense to turn her head back the other way the same that she put it in see.

The more we pulled and pulled on Sal's legs ...she was squealin' her head off.

Oh I can see her now when she got out, we did get her out eventually, but I don't know if somebody had to come and saw her out or what happened, anyhow she was really and truly stuck, poor old Sal.
